Pale foxing to bottom of front page ends which also has a pen mark. Some faint foxing to first and last several pages as well. Jacket is unclipped($7.50) with chipping to spine ends, corners, flap creases and one to middle of spine as well. Larger one to bottom of rear flap crease. Several short tears and some nicks as well. General marks and soiling inside and out.

In red bindstamped boards with lovely burgundy spine cloth and gilt to type. Light ding to top front corner and adjacent top of board. Bookplate shadow to front pastedown. Sticker or pocket removal scar to verso of rfep which is affixed to rear pastedown(Jacket is unclipped(no price) with light wear to head of spine and corners.

New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1941. First Edition Thus. Hardcover. Good/N/A. In orange pictorial cloth with black illustration to front board and title panel to spine with gilt to type. Top page ends tinted. Some soiling to spine and less so to boards. Dings/bumps to head of spine and top front corner, otherwise sharp with clean interior and solid binding. In black slipcase with splitting, scars and scuffing - poor.
