Lee and Shepard, Boston, Massachusetts, 1895. Hardcover. Very Good. Small volume in tan/yellow cloth with some soiling, not severe, light edge wear, spine sunned, tightly bound, free of marking pages clean--except for the three "solutions" pages in rear which is filled in completely, in pencil, all 116! I cannot say they are all correct. In the Preface the author states the answers will be printed "at a reasonable interval" in one or more newspapers. An Example: My First is foremost of an English set/ My Second stalks through Illinois/ My Whole the ;title children get/ In woods and pastures, for a toy" Answer: Acorns. The poems have a pattern with each containing within "My First" My Second" "My Whole."

NY: Harper & Brothers Publishers, 1889. Revised. Hardcover. Very Good or Better. Brown cloth with visible light edge wear, clean, well bound, bright gilt design and lettering to spine, covers firmly attached, inferior free of markings, pages are clean.

Buffalo, NY: Foster-Milburn, 1918. Paperback. Very good plus (or better). Small stapled booklet, light age toning, light wear, overall remarkably well with little wear. Color illustrated cover of US Capital and rear cover advertisement for Doan's. Census figures interleaved with articles on heath, illustrated. 32 pages, not including the covers. NH: Self-Published, 1937. Second printing. Paperback. Good. Stab stapled binding some rusting. Discoloration to front cover, back cover has faded area, but clean. Pages are clean and unmarked. 71 pages of which 66 pages contain the story, with illustrations, and the balance are advertisements for other books. An obscure self-published book, only one OCLC listing (in the UK). The book was copyrighted in the UK, the author's name on the title page is followed by his home, Hanover, New Hampshire. Austin was a professor at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, an author, and the inventor of the "ant house." Advertisments in back include Austin's "Love in a Cottage" "Cricket Family at Home" "The Antville Coal Mines" "The Ant Palace" with descriptions and prices; and then some technical books

Tightly bound, discolored end-pages, and otherwise clean and unmarked on still bright pager. Frontispiece illustration. 144 pages, plus advertisements. No dust jacket.
