An excellent copy.This rare letter of Portuguese Jesuit missionary Froes, dated at Nagasaki December 13, 1596, is addressed to Padre Claudio Acquaviva, General of the Society. It was translated into Italian by another Jesuit, Francesco Mercati. The relation gives a detailed regional description of affairs in Japan in the 1590s, by which time the predominantly Jesuit Christian mission in Japan had made considerable progress.
