Description:
Book. Very Good. Hardcover. The 124th Rifle Minsko-Khingan Red Banner Order of the Suvorov Division is a military unit of the Red Army in the Great Patriotic War(WWll). The division was formed on April 19, 1943 and fought on the Leningrad Front, in Finland where they suffered very heavy losses, Cologne and Kaliningrad. In June 1945, they transferred to the East, where participated in the liberation of the Chinese city of Solun. The division served until Sept. 3, 1945. The commemorative album is 8.5 x 11.5 inches. 15 leaves with 18 mounted photos (9x7 inches) and a few portraits laid in. The album dates from 1983. Nice. .

He gathered many sayings and signatures from his fellow soldiers, and also used the album forstamps he collected during the war, as well as stamps collected once he returned home. It notes on the inside cover: The Property of Joseph Sveiven, Casablanca Africa, Wed Dec VIII 1943. Notes inside refer to him as Cap, I believe he was Marines.
