N.p.: N.p.. Draft script for an unproduced film. A twisted vision of the beginnings of a post-apocalyptic world, which starts with a plane exploding over southern Sweden. Soon everyone is a peninsular town begins getting sick with the same illness, which the doctor has never seen before. As soon as he calls the county medical examiner about it, the area is quarantined and shut off from information. Riots begin on both sides on the quarantine as more and more people die in the small town. General debauchery, chaos and fervent religiosity reign supreme in the final days of the town, left to die while, unbeknownst to the government, some sneak out to Denmark to seek help via scuba diving and laugh when someone takes their picture and offers them money for the shot. New York: Columbia Broadcasting System [CBS], 1973. Vintage reference photograph from the 1973 television movie, which premiered on April 24, 1973, on CBS. Printed mimeo snipe affixed to the verso. Not to be confused with the 1970 British television movie directed by Alan Bridges. A successful architect and his wife, an academic, face the deterioration of their relationship in their suburban home. Originally written for Swedish television and released in 1970 under the title "Reservatet," the script was translated into English and used for two television movies-one in 1970 in Britain, and one in the US in 1973. 9 x 7 inches. N.p.: N.p., 1968. Four vintage borderless double weight oversize reference photographs from the 1968 film, all showing actress Monica Nordquist in various states of undress. The titular Carmilla falls in love with her stepfather, who is shortly thereafter killed in a car accident, leading her to seek revenge against the driver responsible. 11.5 x 9.5 inches. Moscow: Gorky Film Studio, 1969. Treatment script for the 1972 film. A collaboration between Moscow's Gorky Studio and Stockholm's Omega Film. An English translation, produced for consideration by English-speaking parties involved in production. After the October Revolution of 1917, a Russian engineer is assigned to purchase locomotives from Sweden. He is to purchase them with gold claimed by opponents of the revolution. Set in the Soviet Union. White titled self wrapper, lacking rear wrapper, noted as Literary Scenario on the front wrapper, dated April 1969, with credits for screenwriters Semitiov, Braginsky, Yegorov, and Soloviev, and translator Alan Blair. 92 leaves, with last leaf of text numbered 91. An unproduced English-language version of "Mina Drommars Stad" or "City of My Dreams," a 1976 Swedish film written and directed by Ingvar Skogsberg, based upon a novel by Per Anders Fogelstrom. Young Henning and his three friends struggle to survive with their freedom intact in 19th century Stockholm. Based on the life of Fogelstrom. This was the Swedish entry to the 1976 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, but it was not selected as a nominee. Set in Stockholm, shot on location there. White untitled wrappers. Title page present, dated January 26, 1975, noted as Scenario Version, with credits for author Per Anders Fogelstrom, screenwriter Ingvar Skogsberg, and translator Alan Blair. 151 leaves, with last page of text numbered 150. A very early draft of the script, written twenty years before the film's release. Set and shot on location in Belgium, Sweden, Spain, and South Africa. White, lacking titled wrappers. Featuring 18 essays, an Ingmar Bergman filmography, and illustrated with black and white film still photographs throughout. A stark and enigmatic allegory fueled by subtle performances from Ingrid Thulin and Gunnel Lindblom, wherein Ester (Thulin), suffering from a terminal disease, is traveling home with her younger sister Anna (Lindblom), and Anna's son Johan, when they stop in the town of Timoka, a fictional European county on the brink of war with an unknown dialect. The Devil sends Don Juan up from hell to seduce a chaste young vicar's daughter, but the tables soon turn when the famed lover develops feelings for his target. Mimeo snipe on the verso along with the stamp of Svenska Dagbladet. A psychiatrist is afflicted by an inexplicable depression while on vacation. Desperate to escape her torment, she has an affair with a married doctor, which of course leads to more problems but also a greater understanding of her sadness. As with "Scenes from a Marriage," the film originally aired in Sweden as a television miniseries (181 minutes), then was pared down to various lengths as a film version in the US (114 minutes), Argentina (120 minutes), and the UK (136 minutes). New York: Grove Press, 1969. Collection of six vintage studio still photographs from the US release of the 1967 Swedish film. Vilgot Sjoman's controversial erotic drama, utilizing both dramatic and documentary filmmaking techniques, stars Sjoman's then lover, actress Lena Nyman, as a young theater student examining the social and political mores of 1960s Sweden, and her own sexuality. Parallel is the plot of the actors and filmmakers reacting as themselves to the film they are in the process of making. Seized by customs upon entry to the US and banned from numerous US cities for sexually explicit scenes, it was found, in 1969, not to be obscene by the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, opening the door to more frank and explicit subject matter in American film.
