A previous owner removed a sticker that was attached to the front cover and tore the marbles paper. Gilt on the top leaf ends is slighted faded. No dust jacket. Cloth on board covers and spine is frayed along the edges. Spine is discolored, possibly from sun exposure. Residue from a sticker is attached to the front cover. Book is heavily worn but does have a tight binding. Cloth on board covers is torn at the corners and is heavily stained with ink and use. Title and library notations are handwritten on the spine in gold ink. More library notations and stamps are throughout. A few pages have small tears that were repaired by the library or a previous owner. Pages are lightly foxed and stained from age and use. Several pages have small tears along the top edge. Previous owner wrote name on the front fly page. The text on the front cover and spine is faded and barely legible. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 280 pages .

Cloth on board covers and spine are worn along the edges. The remains of a sticker is attached to the front cover. Gilt text on spine is faded, but still legible. One gift inscription is written on the front fly page and is signed Mary C. Coyle (unknown if any relation to the author, however the copyright was held by Mary Cushman Coyle) and is dated Nov. 16, 1897. That gift inscription was crossed out with a green pencil and another owner wrote their name on the inside of the front cover. Binding is loose but no pages appear to be missing. The title page is loose from the binding about half way down the page but is still attached at the bottom. A program from a church service at the First Congregational Church on January 6, 1907 is tucked inside the back cover. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 249 pages .

The John Church Company. Poor with no dust jacket. 1895. Hardcover. This extremely well-loved book is in very poor condition. The text block is completely free of the covers and spine. No pages appear to be missing. Board covers are heavily worn, and the cloth spine has a few small holes. A previous owner wrote several notations on the front fly page. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 159 pages .

No dust jacket but the book probably never had one. Edges of the spine are frayed. Corners of covers are bumped. A child had colored and drawn on the end pages and on the fly pages. Small gift inscription is written on the front fly page and is dated 1928. Pastedown on the front cover is rubbed and has some pen marks. Front fly page has one tear that was taped by a previous owner. One of the illustration plates (page 7) is missing but the rest of them are still attached to the text block. A few light stains to the page margins. Black cloth on the spine is faded to brown and the text is barely legible. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 397 pages .

No dust jacket but probably never had one. Book has some water damage that curved the edges of the board covers and stained the back pages from page 153 to the rear end page. Covers are also lightly stained. "discard" is written in crayon on the front fly page. The previous school wrote their information in the box provided on the inside of the front cover. Pages are lightly tanned and foxed with age. One small pen mark on the title page. And the rest of the pages appear to be free of markings. ; California State Series; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 176 pages .

This rare and hard to find hardcover is in fair condition with clean pages, except for the previous owner's name written in pencil on the inside of the front cover. Heavy foxing throughout and the worst of the foxing is on the end pages and fly pages. Hinge on the inside of the back cover is cracked, but the text block is tight and no pages appear to be missing. No dust jacket, but the book probably never had one. Bottom leaf ends are stained. Leather covers and spine are slightly rubbed along the edges, but remains in good condition for the book's age. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 312 pages .
