The Patterson-Sarge Company, headquartered in Cleveland, was a major producer, not only of house paints, and also paints for automobiles. This colorful promotional brochure gives samples suitable for both the auto and house with 32 high gloss brightl colored samples, each named and numbered. Rare example of early twentieth-century auto travel accessories - a small pocket-sized carrier for documents and other papers for the traveller. Insid the two boards have printed endpapers with basic information about Thos. Cook Sons operations, services and international offices. The accordion pocket includes three items, presumably collected by the client who used this carrie a folding two-page printed flyer advertising insurance policies available to traveller with rates on the reverse; a tri-fold printed brochure "How to see principal cities of Europe" offered by Thomas Cook & Sons; and a folded sheet paper with hand written notes of personal expenses dated February and March 1914.

Although the Pikes Peak was visible for almost everywhere, there was no view where the autos could stop for drivers and passengers to alight and take photographs, so the company built a turntable which allowed the auto to drive out on the piece, be rotated, and then finished drive on. Each of th 40 brightly colored samples is marked on the back with the paint number and color, and the two leaves in the back give additional Dural products and accessories they sell.
