Journeys Through Bookland Ten volumes

Bellows-Reeve Company, 1909. Hardcover. Good. Ten volumes .This is a wonderful collection of European , English , and American literature . There is a very useful guide book that includes much " help " material for the student -- such as a pronunciation guide . The collection includes everything from early Greek myths to nineteenth century stories , poetry and fiction . The books are profusely illustrated including portraits of many of the authors . There are a number of very attractive full-page half tones produced specifically for these volumes . Every student of literature will find much useful material in these volumes . The books are bound in three quarter leather and cloth covered boards . Please note the following about the condition of these ten books . Volume One is missing . It included a part of the childrens' literature collection which is continued in Volume Two . The boards on the Guide volume are warped -- no damage to the text . The leather on the spine is worn and two large chips are missing on Volume Two . The hinges are beginning to crack and loosen on several of the books . This set is priced to reflect these defects . Overall , this is a solid set of very remarkable material attractively and usefully presented .
