Bookplate of Baptist Missionary House Library inside front cover and inscription on facing page. Interior is excellent, bright, and clean. This is a rare guide to 1850s India, on the cusp between East India Company control (1757-1858) and British Crown control (1858-1947). Has chapters covering language, culture, mythology, sights, and other curiosities that might appeal to a British traveler from this period. A second volume was printed shortly after. A book with no other copies for sale at time of listing.

Brick Row Book Shop Inc, 1926. First Edition. Boards. Very good. This is a small, elegantly bound volume from the mostly forgotten New York poet Duryee. In addition to being a poet, Duryee was also a civic leader and frequent contributor to the New Yorker. Corners and edges are worn, and pages are oddly cut, though book is clean and tight.
