Very scarce April 4, 1864 off-white silk ribbon for the Sanitary Fair held at Palace Garden, New York. The United States motto "E Pluribus Unum" and "The Union must and shall be preserved" included on ribbon with an illustration of the American flag framed by a wreath of oak and laurel. Bayonets, a canon, and drum at base of illustration. 34 stars depicted surrounding the American flag and on the flag itself. 2 3/8 x 5 1/8 inches.
