Read at the sixteenth annual meeting, held on Thursday 217th February, 1873, with the balance sheets of receipts and expenditure, the Laws of the Institution and an Alphabetical List of Life Members and Subscribers, from January 1st to December 31st, 1872". Original stitched pictorial blue paper wraps with a few very minor fingermarks and creases - this is a remarkable survival and at first glance you would be forgiven for thinking it a modern reprint. Very clean internally with no annotation or inscriptions. The Sailor's Home was one of numerous charitable institutions, presented to the town in 1856 by the Duke of Northumberland who was also the Patron.
