What's known to the trade as "a reading copy," this volume is shelf worn at spine ends and board tips, with foxing, mostly confined to preliminary and terminal leaves. Some old tide lines. Top edge darkened somewhat over the decades. Shelf and handling smudges on rear board. Sound withal.

Second printing, publisher's blue cloth with silver spine lettering, octavo, pp. viii. 334. Illustrations. Endpaper maps. Very Good with shelf rubs at foot of spine. Dust jacket original price is clipped off front flap and replaced by a small circular circa 1980s sticker. A second old price sticker at the bottom of jacket's rear panel. Jacket Good-only with short tears and other general shelf weariness at spine ends and flap fold points.

Edition limited to 1,000 copies, quarto, unpaginated. Mild wear, as with age & handling. Front panel nick at top edge near fore-edge. Horizontal crease throughout 1/4 inch above the bottom edge, thus GOOD only in the publisher's stapled textured wrappers.

Theological pamphlet, octavo, pp. 44. Removed from a bound volume. Original volume pagination (43-83) written at upper page tips. Just light wear, as with age and handling, and "2" and "No. 2" written in pencil near top of title page, but essentially a very good copy of an uncommon title. Publisher's green wrappers with brown lettering and plastic comb binding, octavo, pp. 113. The old wrappers and pages have softened through the years and are subject to tearing if not handled carefully. One such tear at top edge of front panel is mended inside with a piece of tape. About GOOD condition. Friendship House is a Ministry of the Home Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Nicely done up by the publisher in aquamarine cloth with spine lettering gilt, octavo, pp. 271. Illustrated in color and in black and white. First U. S. edition.

Publisher's stapled card-stock wrappers, octavo, pp. 63. Illustrated with topical vignettes. Light shelf wear. Moderate toning to covers, particularly front panel, which shows foxing and toning more obviously than if publisher had chosen a darker color than cream. GOOD and sound, withal.

Gray cloth with blue spine and upper board lettering, octavo, pp. vii, 171 plus publisher's ads. Previous owner name on front pastedown under dust jacket flap. Light page toning over the century. GOOD and sound. FAIR printed gray dust jacket with chipping and short tears at spine ends, flap fold tips, and around perimeter. Loss of paper at spine crown (see image). Jacket stowed safely now in removable archival Brodart.

Tissue-guarded frontispiece and other illustrations, perfect against Table of Contents. Fore-edge of the free front endpaper has a short horizontal slit at midpoint. Spine ends and board tips rubbed. Some bottom edge rubbing, as well. Foxing, heavier on the endpapers; lighter in the text. Some leaves have evidence of a shallow old tide-line in top-edge margin. GOOD condition, withal.

Publisher's brown cloth with lettering and elaborate decoration gilt, octavo, pp. 131 plus pp. 4 ads. Gift notation from 1887 on free front endpaper in a small neat hand. Tissue-guarded frontispiece and other illustrations, perfect against Table of Contents. Spine ends and board tips rubbed through. Some bottom edge rubbing, as well. Light foxing.

Wraps, octavo, pp. v + [3] + 1-71. Illustrated throughout. Previous owner name inside front cover with note: "Saw these in Shelburne 1960." Just light rubbing along edges and spine. GOOD and sound in the publisher's decorated stapled green wraps with gold foil title label on front wrap.
