The court would acquit Eamer on all charges, declaring the accusations of Ayres and his supporters to be unfounded and motivated merely by a personal vendetta. The first edition was undated, a second followed in 1785 - all are rare. The limited subscriptions of this third and final eighteenth-century edition, several of multiple copies by educational establishments, suggest that this was produced as a textbook in very limited numbers. The auction catalogue, priced in a contemporary uniform hand, of the six-day sale, commencing 5th April, 1815, of the remarkable library of book collector and bookseller James Edwards (1756-1816), sold by his successor Robert Harding Evans (1777-1857). The amount realised by the sale of the 830 lots was £8,398. The library was the second collected by Edwards. His first collection, of less value, was sold at Christie's in 1804.
