Description:
A paperback original in French wraps, issued by Greene's Swedish publisher Norstedts in 1962 as a Christmas Gift, with a foreword by Ragnar Svanstrom. The three novels referred to are The Power and the Glory, The Heart of the Matter, and The End of the Affair, that the publisher was about to issue in an omnibus edition. Near fine in wraps with light sunning to the front panel, some more moderate sunning to the top of the rear wrap, and a sun darkened spine. The booklet has been warmly inscribed "for Michael (Korda) with love and best wishes/for Christmas/from Graham." Some of the pages are unopend at the top, but it appears that Greene opened page 26/27 in order to make a hand-written correction, changing the first word in line 4 from Seen to Seeing. Korda, the editor-in-chief of Simon and Schuster, and Graham Greene were lifelong friends. A unique association copy!
