Vividly colored poster on fabric (21" x 16" printed area), reproduced by the Dogma Gallery, is captioned in Vietnamese and English, "Uncle and We Still Operate Together," (or more literally from Uncle Ho's point of view, stating "I will still march together with you" or "Together We March"). Map is glued onto linen and bound in red cloth hardcover with gilt text. Binding with moderate wear to extremities with some material loss and closed tears. Maps has light edge wear, as well as multiple closed tears at creases (stabilized by linen backing), and faint stain on verso along one fold. One set of claims -- for the Blue Bird silver mine, discovered in 1881 -- marked in orange crayon.Butte was known as "The Richest Hill on Earth" for mines that made fortunes for Copper Kings Marcus Daly, William A. Clark and F. Augustus Heinz. The city's rich history includes a stint as a hotbed of socialist activism, home to a thriving Chinese community whose members came to work in the mines, and scene of some of the most deadly mine disasters in U.S. history (including the Pennsylvania Mine Fire, which killed 21 men the year this map was published).

Signed and inscribed on free front endpaper to his friends, Tom and Dee Cox of Tucson, Arizona. Jacket with Aztec-style design, orange boards with black quarter binding. Spine is mildly cocked, jacket has moderate edge wear with several small closed tears, binding glue visible through endpapers. This was Harrington's third novel, a darkly humorous thriller that was named a notable book of the year by the New York Times Book Review. Inscribee Tom Cox wrote of Harrington in the Tucson Weekly after the author's death in 1997, "Alan Harrington was a quirky, quixotic genius of a writer whose works, fiction and non-fiction, were always philosophical. One's view of the world was changed after reading him."

They include the first printed appearance of Harrison's "Ghazal for Christmas" (later appearing as the first poem in Outliers and Ghazals), "Is There Anything?" by Tate, Gerber's "If You and I Were Buried in the Sea," and "Glacial Wine" by Reed. [Orr and Torrey, A5.a]Portfolio has one dogged ear, the four broadsides are fine. Only 25 copies of this collection were printed, making it an extremely rare addition to any Harrison fan's library. This copy comes from the estate of Pat Paton, who hired Jim to haul mortar in Kingsley, Michigan, in the mid-1960s; they became life-long friends.
