The dustwrapper is protected by a non-adhesive, transparent, acid-free cover which can easily be removed if so desired. Scarce in this true UK first edition, first printing. The book design of pale green (unlettered) boards intentionally mimic those on the volumes in the Midnight Library, with a mock library label printed to the front endpaper.

Handsigned (not dedicated) by the author in black pen to the half-title page. No other inscriptions. In Very Good+, unread condition, in Very Good+ original dustwrapper which is not price-clipped. Very Good condition in Very Good original dustwrapper which has a small stain to the reverse at the upper edge, and is not price-clipped. The author's debut novel. Also issued in a variant 'Waterstone's Edition' with dyed blue page edges (this volume has plain edges).

Original theatre programme for "Gas Light" by Patrick Hamilton for the week commencing 17th July 1939. Colour printed cover illustration by Tom Purvis. Includes cast list and period advertisements. Good condition with abrasion where programme seal has been removed and some browning. Gas Light premiered on 5 December 1938 at the Richmond Theatre in London, before transferring to the Apollo Theatre on 1 January 1939, and to the Savoy Theatre on the 22 May 1939. This is an early provincial production.

First published in 1866. Written, until his death in 1915, by the English poet John Hartley, 1839-1915, who wrote almost exclusively in the Yorkshire dialect. Issues contain 'Ramblin' remarks for every month' together with a miscellany of prose and poetry.

Undated late 1800's attractively produced volume of poetry accompanied by splendid lithographic illustrations (mainly in colour - some in black/white). Printed at the Works in Munich. (No 5607). Near Good condition. Corner of front & rear board creased / bumped. Missing front endpaper. 1920 owner's name/date to head of title page. Hinges weakened, exposing areas of binding.

Scarce. Very Good condition with a horizontal abrasion across the rear wrapper. Inscribed by the author "To Doris and Fred from Louise" to the front endpaper. Date '1949' in another hand to lower front endpaper.
