Text in French. 14 leaves, printed to the recto only. 110 x 250 mm (4¼ x 9¾ inches). Paul Hagemans was a Belgian artist who was born and died in Antwerp (1884-1959). He was a painter, draughtsman and graphic artist. The was the son of Maurice Hagemans, he studied at the Brussels Academy under Is. Verheyden and H. Richir (1899-1906). He painted portraits, figures, genre scenes, views of towns and villages, landscapes, historical and religious subjects. Pas de date, mais vers 1918. Dartford: J. & E. Hall, 1954. An attractive copy of this 62 page booklet outlining the history and apprenticeship opportunities at J. & E. Hall in Dartford. Soft cover with photograph tipped onto front cover. Black and white photographs throughout and a colour folding diagram of the apprenticeship scheme to the rear. Owner's signature to title page. Full of information about the company, and engineering generally. A leaflet giving key facts and a humorously detailed set of directions to their offices is loosely inserted. Founded in 1785, the firm originally built steam engines, and developed into offering escalators, lifts and refrigerated units for ships. In 1954 they had provided 65% of the world's units according to Lloyd's register, and 93% of British registered ships had a Hall refrigerated unit installed. The firm is still operating today. At the brochure states, "Most boys are born with a natural instinct for engineering. " 235 by 160mm (9¼ by 6¼ inches).

Frontispiece, and all illustrations have original tissue guards. Soft covers show signs of age toning and handling. There is some wear to the spine with a small area of loss. Plain unprinted paper covers with no title or identification. Inside is in good condition, with some foxing; not affecting illustrations. 36 unnumbered pages. 285 x 225 mm (11¼ x 8¾ inches). A collection of nursery rhymes and folk songs of the Sinhalese people of Sri Lanka - known at the time as Ceylon. In the foreword, by Sir Solomon Dias Bandaranaike, he writes "In terms of pure decorative art Heather Hamer is spiritually in the direct line of descent from Aubrey Beardsley, and the application of her gift to Sinhalese subjects is a happy piece of good fortune for us." Kunstverein Hannover, 1991. Large book with red cloth covered boards. Colour catalogue for the exhibition of six large sculptures, which took place in the Orangery Hanover in 1991. Two of the six sculptures were new works, created especially for Hannover. This exhibition presented the artist's work to the German public for the first time. Also included in this book, a selection of images from other Kapoor installments in Venice, Grenoble and Madrid. Text in both German and English. Sir Anish Kapoor CBE, RA is a British Indian sculptor who specialises in installation art, and conceptual art. Boards have some light soiling, and light handling. No dust jacket, as issued. Henry Morenne, as a souvenir of a visit of the author to Richelieu in 1931. All three volumes are bound in half red Morocco with marbled boards. Gilt titles and decoration to the spines. All three are in excellent condition with little handling to the leather and boards, although Volume 1 is a slightly brighter shade of red than the next two volumes. The paper is a high quality glossy paper. Volume 1. 1899. Third edition. This covers the youth of Richelieu 1585-1614. Author's inscription to the front end paper. Paris: Peeters Portraits, 1955. Three large silver gelatin photographs (23.5cm x 17.5cm) each signed in white ink by the photographer Harcourt. These are mounted under passe partout and tipped onto the front of folding card. The three images are of a young girl's First Holy Communion, and she is pictured in suitably angelic poses! The three are held in a photography company's cream card folder embossed with "Peeters Portraits Paris" to the front cover. These are possibly produced with a "professional" model as samples of the work that Peeters portraits can produce for customers. Photographs in as new condition. The cream fold has a touch of darkening and a tiny amount of splitting to the bottom edge of the spine. Folder size 38.5cm x 28.5cm .
