One of a series of ten miniature books issued by Pairault between 1895 and 1898, to be housed in a deluxe miniature wood and glass bookshelf named by the publishers "La Gracieuse" (obviously not present here). Quite possibly unrecorded keepsake signed in text by E.H. Ahrens, editor of the Detroit-based newspaper Hotel Management, Food Service, and National Restaurant News. The work promotes the activities of a Major Ray, whose investigation, and eventual eradication, of the blue stripes printed on mail carrier bags saved the United States Postal Service $20,000 a year (about $350k in today's currency). Ray subsequently made a career out of hunting such so-called "blue stripes." None in the trade or OCLC as of October, 2020.

The highly lauded Unitarian minister delivers an address on the occasion of the Phillips Exeter Academy's centennial. Stebbins was an active minister for nearly a half century, preaching against anti-Chinese legislation, on behalf of the Union during the Civil War, and was even voted to succeed the highly influential Starr King in California. The four-page poem does not appear to be the by Edward Everett Hale, who attended Boston Latin, but appears to be the work of an Exeter alumnus. Edges a bit darkened. Overall a sound copy.
