Good. Lot of 4 typed letters on Japanese rice paper each with a different color design and one envelope. Dated to 1926 and 1927. Two letters are complete and measure 7" x 42" and 7" x 35"; two are partial letters measuring 7" x 13" and 7" x 7". The letters are folded numerous times, have a few ink annotations by author and her signature is also in ink. The designs printed on the rice paper are still bright and depict scenery, floral and fruit images. The envelope was date stamped but it has been mostly torn away (a 1" x 1 ½" piece) along with any other stamps. Complete letters are fragile and have expected creasing and light toning. Partial letters are torn and missing a portion; the 7" x 7" letter is torn at the top and bottom of the letter; the 7" x 13" letter is torn at the top and has light dampstaining, affecting content. Very Good. Set of two short story manuscripts. One story, An Episode In The Life Of A Cowboy, has been typed in black ink. The other story, The Broken Horseshoe, has a handwritten copy, in blue and black ink, and a typed copy, in black ink. The handwritten copy has moderate soil and has been folded two times. It is fragile at folds with some chipping. Typed copy of The Broken Horseshoe has been stapled to handwritten copy and has very light soil. An Episode in the Life of a Cowboy has light soiling to edges and has been folded three times. Paper clip rust stain on top of first leaf of both manuscripts. These short stories were written by A. N. Keith who could have been taking a correspondence course in writing. The Broken Horseshoe has a typed review of his work by his instructor O. N. Doty, who mentions sending Keith his second assignment. The Heraldo was published in the interest of the schools of District 2 in Denver, Colorado by the West Denver High School. These nine issues with their original wrappers have been bound into marbled boards with a half leather binding. Boards have moderate wear to all edges and corners. Top of spine has moderate chipping and foot of spine has minor chipping. Text block is toned. Each issue is between 20 to 40 pages and includes updates on the school, poems, essays, photographs and many advertisements from local businesses. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .

The card reads, "The picture reproduced this year is a view of Grand Canyon from Toroweap Point. The decorations are Indian designs carved on rock in Dry Fork Canyon. Although made more than a thousand years ago they still express in an enduring form our good wishes for you and your tribe at this season. Written to the shareholders of the Powder River Cattle Company, this letter is less than optimistic. "…I regret to say that it is absolutely certain the money subscribed by the Ordinary Shareholders is lost, and that the assets will not be nearly sufficient to pay the Preference Shareholders in full." The letter was written by the liquidator of the company, Mr. C. Fitch Kemp out of Walbrook, London. Mr. Moreton Frewen, at one time the manager of the Company, is cited; Kemp saying that Frewen provided many incorrect and misleading statements in previous circulars. Research from other documents regarding this Company show that Kemp and Frewen disagreed on many things, especially Kemp's conduct after the shareholders' investments were lost.
