OTTO KAHN (1867-1934). Kahn was a Jewish-American investment banker, railroad magnate, and philanthropist. TLS. 1pg. January 26, 1927. New York. A typed letter signed “Otto Kahn”. Using his personal letterhead, Kahn wrote to Rev. Prebendary A. W. Gough in London. “My dear Mr. Gough: Please accept my thanks for your letter of the 15th of January, and be assured that I appreciate highly your generous expressions of commendation. I expect to be in London for a week early in March, and for two weeks in June, and hope very much to have the pleasure of seeing you in the course of my stay. Believe me, with sincere regards, Very faithfully yours, Otto Kahn”. It is in fine condition with folds.

KING KALAKAUA (1836-1891). Kalakaua was the penultimate monarch of the Kingdom of Hawaii, reigning from 1874 to 1891. DS. 2pgs. December 30, 1886. Palace of Iolani, [Honolulu], Kingdom of Hawaii. A printed document signed “Kalakaua Rex”. (BLEEDING KANSAS). Taking place between 1854 and 1861, Bleeding Kansas refers to violence between pro and anti-slavery forces regarding the status of slavery in Kansas. Bleeding Kansas ended when Kansas became a free state in 1861. ALS. 1pg. September 29, 1858. Ogden, Kansas Territory. An autograph letter signed “Ira Norris” to James W. Denver, the Territorial Governor of Kansas. Norris explored the Midwest and worked in territorial politics during the mid Nineteenth Century. He wrote from Kansas Territory during the Bleeding Kansas period: “Dear Sir Mr. Mobuly informs me that you intended coming up here the coming week. I wish to see you particularly before you leave the Territory, and should you not be able to come here I will take the train to go to Lecompton. Do me the favor to drop me a line and inform us if we may expect you ere, also about what train you will leave for Washington. Very Respectfully Yours truly Ira Norris”. MACKINLAY KANTOR (1904-1977). Kantor was an American author and journalist; he is best remembered for his 1955 novel Andersonville, for which he won the Pulitzer Prize. ANS & TM. 3pg. August 27, 1955. No place. An autograph note signed “Mack” on his personal letterhead, stating: “Dear Ben, To you, these first and last pages of the original manuscript of Andersonville. With all affection Mack”. As indicated in Kantor’s letter, the first and last typed pages of the manuscript are present; the final page has a few handwritten corrections, signed by him and dated. The three pieces are matted and framed together.

JACKIE KENNEDY (1929-1994). Jackie Kennedy was the First Lady from 1961 to 1963. AL. 2pg. No date [circa January 1, 1959]. Washington. An autograph letter by Jackie Kennedy written to noted secretary Evelyn Lincoln. Writing on her personal letterhead, she penned: “Dear Mrs. Lincoln – these are the English and French magazines we would like subscriptions to. You can get them from Gordon’s Magazines 32 E. 59th St, N.Y.C., have them sent here and billed to Jack’s office. Every January will you get us a 6 month subscription to them (except for 2 magazies we get 12 months). Just keep this list…have to bother to tell you again in Jan. JOHN F. KENNEDY (1917-1963). Kennedy was the Thirty-Fifth President. WILLIAM BLAIR (1916-2015). Blair was President Kennedy’s Ambassador to Denmark and President Johnson’s Ambassador to the Philippines. He was also law partner with Adlai Stevenson. Document. 3 ½” x 4 ½”. No date {November 1963]. No place. A small Mass card from a memorial service for President Kennedy. The front has a black and white portrait of the President. The back has three paragraphs, ending with “knowing that here on earth God’s work must truly be our own.” There is a small tape strip at the top of the verso but it is in fine condition otherwise.

A signed photograph of Stan Kenton: “For Jim – I’m happy to meet you! Sincerely, Stan Kenton”. The photograph is a black-and-white image of Kenton smiling towards the camera. The image is in excellent condition.

EUGENE BERTRAM KRUPA (1909-1973). Krupa was a pioneering American jazz drummer, as well as a band leader and composer. PS. 4” x 6”. N.d. N.p. A photograph signed “to Jimmy - sincerely - Gene Krupa”. The black-and-white photograph shows a smiling Krupa looking off to the right and smiling. The photograph is on cardstock and in excellent condition.
