Center for Investigative Reporting, 1983. Softcover. Good. Thirty page booklet published by the Center for Investigative Reporting in 1983. This saddle-stitched (stapled) publication was compiled by the C.I.R. and is composed of five articles written by the late Angus MacKenzie, an investigative journalist best known for his work researching the CIA's systematic efforts to suppress and censor information. He co-founded the Center for Investigative Reporting. During his career he won or shared over two dozen journalism awards, including the National Magazine Award. He is known for suing the CIA under the freedom of information act (FOIA). He won. This booklet, 8"wx11"h, has lightly yellowed covers, curls up along the stapled spine, has bumped tips and some smudging. Overall it is in nice shape.

Beautiful textured boards, embossed with a pegasus being ridden by what must be the god Poseidon, scroll work around the title, and a really great border all the way around the front board. The boards and designs appear to be almost "antiqued" in nature. The title and the pegasus design are darker, almost black. Upper corner of rear board is dented, with lighter bumping and wearing to the other corners. Significant shelf-wear to the bottom of spine. Scraping to spine edges. Small sticker of former owner name on front paste down. Toning to paste downs and all pages, but not excessively so. The sewn binding is still in good shape. All page signatures are intact, no loose page or twist to book block. Good reading copy. Five color plates and 31 b&w illustrations. 469 pages.

Front board has soiling near top corner, with light wearing to board tips. There is a horizontal worn spot to the cloth near the bottom of the spine. Paste downs and end papers are yellowed, with darkening to the glue. Small raised are on upper corner of FEP where there had been a price sticker. Light toning to pages. Good binding. No loose pages. Very readable. 303 pages.

Significant wearing spine strip, top and bottom, with splitting to cloth. Very dented, mashed spine ends and corner tips. Stained and smudged text block. Cracked hinges. Good sewn binding. No loose pages. Some crimping to leaves. 535pps.

Light bumping to the corner tips and heel and head of spine. Light scuffing on covers. Binding is very tight. Interesting book containing many photographs and stories of life on a ranch in New Mexico.135 pps.

Has catalog number on spine, card holder, withdrawn stamps on inside fly leaf, and bottom of text block. Former library stickers on title page. Cover is very scuffed and worn, with creases and bumped and worn corners, front and back. The spine is very creased and binding is worn. Outer edges of text block are dirty and have stains. It's in rough condition but still readable.
