Description:
London: Various. Elliott O'Donnell's [hereafter OD] personal archive comprising some letters, photographs, manuscripts, ephemera and a dozen books. This is an extensive collection, the majority from OD's own archive, but with some seemingly supplemental items added. Highlights include OD's first published story, a collection of photographs and slides, ghost case letters, OD's passport, OD's luggage tag from the ill-fated SS Elbe, and his ARP warden's shoulder patches. There's a lengthy (c50 pages) catalogue outline. The current offering hasn't been reconciled with the 50 page catalogue, but a cursory view seems to show a comparison - in fact, the only thing I've not found that is in the catalogue is a lock of OD's hair. Here follows my description of the catalogue, which is much briefer than the 50 page catalogue. I have counted the individual items but the numbers will vary a little, likewise the content of the individual items. The books, I suspect are…

London: Blackwood. London, Blackwood, 1886. First Edition. First Impression. Hardback. A near fine copy. Three volumes, complete. 24pp ads. A tale of the "perniciousness of evangelical cults;" something of acute interest to the author given his relationship with a New York Utopian movement. The novel features a uncommonly well-written female character who shakes off the shackles of the patriarchy. Some lean to the spines and a little bumping to the tips and some rubbing. A nice copy.
