Like his portrait by Jacques-Émile Blanche painted at the same time, we find here the same thin mustache and delicate face of the writer.Portraitist Paul Boyer took over Otto Van Bosch's Paris studio in 1888. Located on Boulevard des Capucines and in Trouville, he worked until 1909.
This precious print was kept by the Proust family until 2016

This is the singer's second season in the famous theater directed by Bruno Coquatrix. She performed three more series of dates, in 1958, 1961 and 1962, and although exhausted, saved the Olympia from bankruptcy.
It was with Piaf that the myth of the Olympia took shape in the mid-1950sHer image has thus become inseparable from the Parisian theater.
The present contract includes the outstanding conditions granted to the singer, then at the height of her career, for her performances at the 1956 Olympia. The drawing, entitled "Le Départ (gros temps)", depicts four small sailboats sailing on high, almost vertical waves, each with two passengers on board struggling to hold the jibs and mainsails with difficulty. We can observe the meticulousness with which Proust himself applied to the details, even the smallest, making this drawing rather accomplished.
