New York: Grove Press, 1993. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good. 104x12x152. First edition. Very faint spots to top page ridge, ink stamp to title page, sticker remnants on jacket, jacket edges lightly bumped. 1993 Hard Cover. 308 pp. First novel by the Tony-winning playwright. "In classic works such as Hurlyburly and Streamers, David Rabe's depictions of violence and the dark side of the human psyche have won him widespread acclaim. In Recital of the Dog, a painter who has left urban chaos for the country soon finds his hopes of tranquility shattered by a marauding intruder-a dog that torments his small herd of cows. Desperate to restore order to his world, the man shoots the dog, unwittingly unleashing a nightmare on himself. This is a tale of creation and destruction, crime and punishment, rife with insight and black comedy.

Description:
New York: Burns & Oates, 2009. Reprint. Trade Paperback. Very Good. 5x0x8. Reprint. Corner creased. 2009 Trade Paperback. 218 pp. What is the Point of being a Christian? One is pointed to God, who is the point of everything. If one thinks of religion as just 'useful' then one has reduced it to another consumer product. But if we are pointed to God, then this should make a difference to how we live. This is not a moral superiority. Christians are usually no better than anyone else. But the lives of Christians should be marked by some form of hope, freedom, happiness and courage. If they are not then why should anyone believe a word they say? In this new book, Timothy Radcliffe is at his best, writing with a prophetic edge. His argument for Christian belief is profoundly Catholic and profoundly human. But what is just as remarkable, Radcliffe's argument for and interpretation of Christian Gospel is couched in a deep understanding of human nature and the problems and anxieties of modern…

Fine. 2018 Trade Paperback. 229 pp. Army National Guard Colonel Sawyer Kincaid has served her time dueling with death in the deserts of Africa. "Russian playwright and historian Radzinsky mines sources never before available to create a fascinating portrait of the monarch, and a minute-by-minute account of his terrifying last days." "This is an examination of the life and death of Nicholas II, with special emphasis on the last 18 months of his life. Material only recently available from the Kremlin archives, including the Romanov diaries, telegrams, letters and other papers, throws new light on events which have remained a mystery for 75 years. Fresh evidence is presented on the happenings of the night of 16th-17th July 1918, on whether any members of the Tsar's family survived, on the source of the final execution order, and on the part played by Lenin.
