Bates of Columbia, S.C, dated 1884, with additional handwritten correction in the same hand to errata leaf. Memoir of a long life lived in Columbia and the surrounding area, with much local history as well as a chapter on the civil war. Very good with wear and discoloration to covers, small stains to text block edges, foxing and toning.
