Description:
Dakers 1953 (1st UK). No Binding. Fine. Val Biro produced 4 designs for the d/w of this book. All signed, the first 3 are pencil sketches and differ from the final draft which was in colour and very similar to the finished wrapper. As soon as Biro had been sent a manuscript for a new book, he produced a "rough" design in colour on paper, in the same size as the proposed dustwrapper. Occasionally more than one rough was done to satisfy the publisher before Val went ahead with the finished artwork on artboard.
