Lovely color or monochrome plates tipped in on black paper mounts. Set in sixteenth century Japan.

Photo illustrations. 8vo.: xiii, [14]-262, [1] pp. Black cloth, title in gilt to spine, facsimile signature and vingette illustration gilt-stamped to upper board, illustrated endpapers, top-edge stained red. Text leaves are lightly and evenly toned. Shallow dampstain along top-edge of upper board and a faint spot of dampstaining at inner margin of endpapers. Slight edgewear to bottom edge of cloth and corners, and a short tear at crown. In a photo illustrated dust jacket showing the Vagabond Lover on the front panel; it is heavily edgeworn and chipped, moderately soiled, and has light dampstain at the top-edge of the front panel. While the limited edition of this book is fairly common, signed copies of the trade edition are scarce.

Fourteen evocative drawings suggest, but do not explain, the mysteries of Harris Burdick. Clean and crisp, in a like dust wrapper, this is a very fine copy.

A large selection of this literary/art journal which, despite initial claims to being a quarterly, ended its run as a "revue periodique." We offer numbers 1-8 and 10-11 bound in eight issues as published. (Two of the issues, nos. 7-8 and 10-11, are double numbers.) Of particular interest are three numbers (5 & 10/11) devoted to Stephane Mallarme and two others (nos. 7/8) which are devoted to Jean Cocteau. Illustrated with reproductions of photos and drawings, and with facsimiles. Octavo, printed paper wrappers; additionaly, four issues have a dust-jacket with a photo illustration on front panel. Internally clean, but the exteriors are soiled and show some edgewear. About very good.
