Own an early Warhol without spending millions - early Andy Warhol illustrations with vibrant artwork that is an insight into his later pop art aesthetic. In the late 1950s, Warhol belonged to Doubleday's stable of freelance artists, making a living designing book covers and illustrating books. Also a short story of "Horatius at the Bridge" retold by James Baldwin. Some wear with a bump at bottom of spine; front gutter just starting. Cover has minimal smudging. Interior is clean except for a few spots; ffep (with titles) has faint erasures of pencil mark including what may be a dealer's note. Very minor stain on bottom of text block that doesn't go into the pages. Ten children's stories - all illustrated by different artists including Don Freeman, Fritz Kredel, Dagmar Wilson, Barbara Cooney, Andy Warhol, Barara Corrigan, Henry C. Pitz, and Lloyd Goff.
