A very good copy in like dust jacket. Camunda, the Divine Mother, is one of the manifestations of Shakti. She is considered to be the most feroscious goddess of the Hindu pantheon and her cult is of considerable antiquity. The Mahabharata, the Puranas and other literary texts have provided vivid accounts of her origin. The author presents a rich and variegated picture of the Camunda art of Orissa, highlighting the iconography of individual images with special reference to the Silpa and Tantric texts.

Harry Canar (1876-1950) was a leader among the magical fraternity in the 1920's and active in the affairs of the Pacific Coast Society of Magicians.

Charles Guyette, the "G-string King," referenced in the film of Wonder Woman's creator, Professor Marston and the Wonder Women, and costumer to Bettie Page, was the first person to produce and distribute fetish art in America. In 1935, he was arrested and sent to federal prison. But what should've been the end was just the beginning. Although rarely credited by name in his lifetime, he influenced everyone who followed him, particularly the publishers Robert Harrison, John Willie, Irving Klaw, and Leonard Burtman. No place: No publisher, no date [1953]. First Edition. Small printed envelope which contains a one page sheet of instructions (on one side only) plus a manilla envelope and 4 smaller white envelopes. Inside the manilla envelope is a fake coin (removed from its plastic wrap, though wrap still present) with one side being a 1952 Washington quarter, the other side is a Chinese coin with a square in the middle. The 2 effects listed on the sheet require a regular quarter and a Chinese coin. It is unclear if the real Chinese coin was supposed to be included here or provided from another source. The only coin here is the fake coin with two sides. The fake coin shows some wear from use. The envelopes and instruction sheet are in very nice condition. The outer envelope has light edge wear. A scholarly monograph on the Tantric Goddess Chinnamasta, whose iconography often depict her as severing her own head, with two attendants drinking the streams of blood from her neck. She has Buddhist origins but is probably more known as one of the Dasamahavidya (the ten tantric manifestations of the Goddess Kali) from the Hindu tantric pantheon. The work discusses her origins, her ritual procedures, visualizations, and more. Appendices detail the one thousand names of the Goddess plus locations of her temples in Northern India and the Kathmandu Valley.

This is De Quincey’s classic autobiographical account about his addiction to laudanum (opium and alcohol) and the effect it had on his life. The Confessions was the first major work De Quincey published and the one which won him fame almost overnight. The book was originally published anonymously in September and October of 1821 in the London Magazine. It was first released in book form in 1822 and again in a revised edition in 1856.
