Description:
Interesting volume with the author's personal take on Dublin. Stephen Gwynn (1864-1950) was a poet, journalist and a Protestant Nationalist MP for Galway City from 1906 to 1918. He was grandson of the Young Ireland leader William Smith O'Brien.Book is undated but is not a reprint so presumably the First 1938 edition. Book is sound, binding tight and free of any significant marking. Boards are clean with a little creasing on rear panel (a little dampness perhaps) but not significant. Slight compression to head and tail of spine. Leaves are very good with half title page only browned. There is a very good pull out map of Dublin and Suburbs. There are also many illustrations. The DJ is only Fair with loss to head and tail of spine and some chipping at extremities. It is dust dulled. Now in a protective removeable sleeve.
An interesting book particularly for those interested in the history of Dublin. It seems to be very scarce with dust jacket.
