Everyone knows the man as an artist but few know him as a person.This biography brings together the man and the legend. There are so many revelations in this biography, one marvels at the robust life of this important artist.

VG, near Fine 8vo. First edition, 2nd printing. This is a signed presentation copy on ffp, not a bookplate. Personalized inscription with a thank you for supporting the Susan Estes Foundation. There are remarks about the signing written by a third party. It contains laid in material including a ticket to An Evening with Desmond Tutu event and a photo with Desmond Tutu and three attendees, one of whom wrote the third party remarks. This is a remarkable copy because it captures a snapshot of Desmond Tutu sharing his vision with American audiences on tour. Because it is so personalized, it is in a class by itself compared to the Easton limited edition and the signed book plate copies.

Very good clean and tight copy, all pages intact. Has some stain on the foredge that doesn't stain the pages.No D/J. Title reflects early concept of x-ray technology to dissect scripture verse by verse. This is a useful book for study of the scriptures if you want to see the connection of a verse to action. Simplistic illustrations make sense of some concepts that arguable among denominations. Written from the Church of Christ, a breakaway Campbellite group, it stays pretty much to scripture, adhering to Campbell's "speak where scripture speaks and stay silent where scriptures are silent".

4to, 5.5x8.5. Cover in very good condition with minor cover bumps and some scuffing to gutter. Bright green cloth with gold title on spine,which is not faded. The copyright history is interesting. 2 were granted in 1886, 2 in 1889, 2 in 1898, 1 in 1899 and the last to the Century Company in 1900. On the cover page, the date shown by Doubleday, Page is 1906. I am not quite sure what a first edition would be.This is a very good copy for its age. There is a previous owners faded stamp on the inside left cover and there is a faint crease on the inside right cover page. Other flaws in the book are some pencil notes and marginal lines that are unobtrusive on pages 4,5,6,8,13,17,18,75. The pencil notes could be easily erased if the owner is so inclined.On page 93 are 2 tears apparently made when trying to separate uncut page 93-94.
