Red pictorial DJ (w/ rider & hounds) is Good+ to VG; bright w/ light rubbing & soil on rear panel, minor edge wear (incl. small closed tears & chips- 1/8 to 3/8""); 1"" tear at top of rear panel & just a hint of sun to spine. Book is VG+. Red cloth binding is tight, bright & clean; maybe a hint of rubbing. All black cover & spine lettering, & horse & rider on front are crisp & intact. NO bumps, scuffs or frays to binding. Hardcover/ DJ (has price $24.95); both VG+ to Near Fine condition. SIGNED & inscribed on title page by 1) Editor- Dan Oates, dated 1994 & 2) Madeleine Blue- descendent of author John Blue. C. 1994- assume First Edition (none stated). Both DJ & book would be Fine to New, except for 1/4 closed tear on rear spine edge of DJ w/ corresponding 1/4"" closed nick in rear spine gutter. This is really minor (almost missed it), but should be noted. DJ is otherwise clean, bright & glossy w/ trace of shelf wear- displays extremely well.
