Former owner's name and a small label (Govt. Printing Office in Freetown) on endpaper. The Temne people live mostly in the central and northwestern portions of Sierra Leone.

Original (and still bright) red cloth. 18 cm. The original owner of this volume was from Waterford, Maine and used this for a 1910 trip to Japan, probably with his spouse. Neat pencil comments giving impressions of what they saw are written in margins here and there. All called-for maps and illustrations are present as well as a few additional English-language maps, illustrations and information taken from hotel and other travel brochures acquired on their trip. The largest by far of the added items is a map of Nikko provided by the Anaya Hotel. Our traveler left San Francisco on the "Korea" on March 8th, arrived in Honolulu on the 14th, left Hawaii on the "Mongolia" on the 28th, and arrived in Yokohama on April 8th.
