Limited Editions Club, 1982 Bound in gray boards in like slipcase, signed by Baskin. This number 852 of 2000 copies and includes the sepia toned lithograph in back. Original glassine wrapper is present. It has a darkened spine and some wrinkling. Prospectus is laid in. A fine book in fine slipcase with minor rubbing.

Yellow Springs: Kahoe & Spieth, 1927 Dust jacket darkened at the head and spine. Light pencil underlining on last poem and rear flap of jacket. Still a nice copy in like jacket.

Lewis Publishing Co, 1933 Bound in stamped brown cloth, marbeled end papers and edges. A nice solid set. Set with minor shelf wear. Volume 1 has a bump to one corner and the top rear board. Extensive Illinois history and biography. Extra shipping will apply to this heavy set.

Chicago: John Morris Bound in red cloth with gilt titles, 152 pp. Signed on rear endpaper, upside down, "Compliments/of/John Virgin/Fairbury Ill". John Virgin was a member ofThe Planning Commission for this Fair, the columbian Exposition. Internally quite bright and clean, printed on glossy paper. externally there is a 1" tear at the lower front gutter and a wrinkle to the lower front covering, also expected minor wear to the extremities and light spotting.

London : University of London, 1966 Bound in yellow wraps with black titles, color frontis, 49 pp plus 20 plates. Book is unread, with a touch of rubbing on the back cover and a faint 1/2" crease on the front, no doubt from its printing.

Phiadelphia: T. B. Peterson & Brothers, 1865 Bound in brown blind stamped cloth, 299 pp plus 1 p ads, 11 woodcut illustrations. This copy with spine faded and a tear at tail, tips rounded, damp stain top corner the first 60 pages, thereafter clean with occasional modest foxing, tender front hinge. Pages quite clean and bright. Early book written following the assassination, and following eulogies.

Russian Orthodox Youth Committee, 1971 Large elaborately bound and illustrated book in Russian and English, 488 pp. Wonderful book printed on heavy stock [book weighs 8 pounds]. All edges are gilt, no writing, smudges, etc., an unread copy. Covers are protected in mylar. Because of the size and weight extra shipping charges may apply.

Chicago: Higgins, Belden % Co., 1874 Bound in black cloth with gilt titles, 109 pp plus 2 page maps of Indiana and the Western United States and a single page each of the eastern and Western hemisphere all in color. There are 19 full page color maps with townships taking an entire page and towns and villages two or three to a page. Also there is a two page map of Goshen. Also there are numerous engravings of prominent buildings and farms and histories of the more noteworthy families and founders. Pages are somewhat better than usually found in an atlas from this time period: There is occasional light finger soil to the margins and three small marginal tears not affecting the images. For the covers, the spine has been repaired with black cloth tape and there is edge wear. Again, a good copy in a little better shape than normal.

London: Cassell & Co. Bound in green beveled boards with gilt and black decorations, 392 pp plus 8 pp ads. This copy with a book plate from C Curry Bohm and a gift inscription from Flora S. Richardson, the widow of his friend, William D Richardson. This copy with all 50 color plates and tissue guards present, plus numerous line drawings. Obviously a well loved copy. I left the book marks in place. Edges and gutters have been reinforced with black tape.There is foxing with it being primarily on the borders and backs of the plates. The front end paper and one plate with its tissue guard are detached but present. An interesting association to this famous Brown County, Indiana artist who also worked in Glouster, Massachusetts and Tennessee.

Higgins, Belden & Co., 1875 Scarce county atlas with 31 pages of engravings, 12 one page, 8 two page and a 3 page fold out United States Railroad map. Bound in blind stamped cloth with gilt titles. [1]-4, 7-105, [while no page number 5 and 6 is present this is a publishing error as text continues without interruption from p4 to p7. Three page US Railrosd map is not counted in pagination. Boards show heavy edge wear, spine and hinges have old duct tape repair. some leaves are loose and at one time had been retipped in. One engraving has a big marginal chip not affecting the image. Fold out railroad map is badly torn but complete. Finger soil throughout with all maps quite presentable with no tears, stains, etc.

New York: Central Publishing Company, 1877 This is the original period book bound in green cloth with gilt titles and decorations, 493 pp. It is packed full of period ads with copious illustrations. Full title Important Events of the Century: containing historical synopsis of the important events since the discovery of America. Illustrations and descriptions of the Great Centennial Exhibition at Philadelphia; places of revolutionary fame...also, a classified and alphabetically arranged list of a large number of leading business houses ... This copy in amazing condition with just the slightest trace of rubbing on the front cover, pages lightly tanned from age and a nick on the first leaf of text.

Houghton Mifflin, 1924 Book with fading to the spine and inscription on front endpaper, else very good.

Columbus, OH: self published, 1833 Bound in faded brown cloth, volume 1 only 182 pp. A solid copy wiht damp stains on the tops of the first and last several pages, a number of faded brown ink lines in the margins. Covers are worn and the spine label is missing. Still a solid copy.

Cincinnati, 1857 This the new revised edition, three volumes in one with volume 1 being on Anatomy and Physiology, 2 Midwifery and 3. An Improved System of Botanic Medicine, 201, 223, and 542 pages with many illustrations. Book is bound in period calf with black spine label. Both hinges are cracked and there is a large chip at the tail of the spine. Some pages are foxed, but the vast majority are quite bright, white and clean.

Chicago: Bedford-clarke, 1890 Beautifully blue cloth decorated in gold and black. Spine very slightly darkened, modest shelfwear.

Samuel Gabriel Sons & Co., 1912 Early juvenile book on an aircraft race. There are 12 pages of text/illustrations plus text inside front and back covers. Several early aircraft are mentioned and illustrated including a Roe Triplane, Voisin Aeroplane, Bleriot Monoplane, Antoinette Monoplane plus a few different dirigibles.Cover was reinforced with grey cloth that blends in well with the illustrations, many years ago. Text is detached from the cover but, other than expected finger soil, is free of tears marks, etc. Name in pencil on front cover, inscription inside front cover, otherwise an attractive copy of an early airplane book.

Scribner's, 1890 Two volume set bound in dark green cloth with bright gilt titles, 547 and 540 pp., one map in rear in each volume. Maps with small splits where folds intersect, with the map in volume I having nicks to exposed edge. Trace of wear at tips, rear hinge of volume I starting. Contents mostly unread, no stray marks, foxing, tears, etc. An outstanding set.
