Coated glossy covers. Synopsis: The James J. Hill house was the residence of the Hill family at 240 Summit Ave. in St. Paul, Minnesota. James J. Hill was known for the building of the Great Northern Railroad lines and numerous other business ventures. The house, an impressive red sandstone, had a commanding view of the Mississippi River. The author gives the historical background of Mr. Hill and includes numerous photographs of the family and the exterior and interior of the house plus its layout. Tours of the Hill family residence are gives by the Historical Society guides.
