This album utilizes a page a day calendar combined with photos, verse, notes from friends and family, clippings, drawings, watercolors, and comics to create a wonderful gift for a young lady. Many famous people make an appearance through their words or visages: Robert Louis Stevenson, Teddy Roosevelt, Longfellow, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Louisa May Alcott, Emerson, Oliver Wendall Holmes, Shakespeare, George Eliot, Carlyle, and Whittier.
There are some nice little collages of photos and you can tell the creator put a lot of time into the piece. The album, in turn, is well-loved. The binding is apart but the pages are generally very good.

Henry Peach Robinson is better known for his larger format pictorial imagry than for his portrait work. But, as we can see, his portrait studio in Turnbridge Well produced good work as well.
The back of the card has an array of medals he won in the 1860s and 70s, ending in 1874, giving this card a c1875 date. Given the newsprint tape and its general fine condition, I would say it was framed for a long while.
