This is an incredibly beautiful Victorian-Era edition of Edgar A. Poe's monumental work, Lenore. Just for an age reference, this book was printed over 29 years before the first world war of 1914. Antique Poe books of the 19th century are becoming much more valuable as time goes on, especially an illustrated edition of Lenore. This stunning century-plus special edition has been exceptionally well preserved and is in unrestored condition. As many literary collectors and readers of Poe's personal will know, "Lenore" was the name he used in writing to speak of his lost love and wife "Virginia," who died at an early age. Poe was a poor writer and was… Read More

A GENUINE 1938 1ST US EDITION HARDCOVER WITH THE ORIGINAL DUST JACKET THAT IS NOW 84 YEARS OLD INCLUDING A STUNNING COMPENDIUM OF ARTWORK, INCLUDING FULL-COLOR PLATES, ALL WELL PRESERVED PLEASE NOTE: THIS BOOK IS THE US EDITION AND IT'S IN ENGLISH; THERE WAS ANOTHER THAT WAS PRINTED IN GERMAN
This is a beautiful, fascinating, and well-written book on Leonardo Da Vinci, containing an exceptional catalog of his works and a look into the life of one of the greatest thinkers in history. Although remakes were made in the 40s, 50s, and 60s, this is the real 1938 1st edition, and it's been well-kept for over 80 years, including some of his most well-known drawings and paintings but some rarer works not found in many other editions. They don't make books like these anymore, and I don't think they ever will. I would snag this one before it's gone.
Overall for a book from the 1930s, it's in good condition but does have some normal aging. This includes some wear to the dust jacket age toning to pages, and two… Read More

By the time of his death in 1519, when he was sixty-seven and famed throughout Europe, it seemed that he had accomplished wonders aplenty as an artist, engineer, inventor, and scientist. The story of the Renaissance artist and scientist. This is a stunning and very well-kept edition that includes a treasure trove of information on the life of one of the greatest artists ever to have lived.Leonardo da Vinci was trained to be a painter and, in fact, produced what is arguable the most famous painting in the world, the "Mona Lisa". Yet Leonardo's interests and achievements spread far beyond the world of art. He studied astronomy, botany, anatomy, and geology, and designed and drew plans for hundreds of inventions, many of… Read More
