1934 issue from Odessey Press, Paris. I taped the small thin back spine and both front/rear boards together so they would not get lost. the pastedowns are also off, but still here. Inside is a hard 1st title page and an inside rear hardboard with prices FRS18-SFR 3,5?-LIRE14. In between the two is the text of the book, still tight held by the inside portion of the spine. At the bottom of the page just before chapter 1 is the previous owner's name fountain ink(also the last page). and store stamped red ink in french, this page could be removed but it shows providence.This book will be included with the Collection.

LATER PRINTING with the full DJ with minor wear, 99% complete, light soiling, $1.00 price intact. This is the better of the 2 I have. Great gap filler for the $20,000+ impossible to find 1st edition with DJ. Blue cloth with light fading to the edges, gold lettering. Owners signature in ink 1st leaf

the date shows 1933 but the DJ talks about GWTW a few years later and this is the 37th printing and had a price of $1 on the DJ flap. Blue cloth covers and it is soiled, sunned. The DJ has chipping and it is soiled but it has one, could be cleaned up. Please check the photos for other conditions.

A DECENT AUTOGRAPHED COPY. I actually read this book a few years ago when I read a story about how hard it is to find a true 1st edition with a dust jacket. If you read it, you too will understand why it was on the Preacher's book-burning list, it was banned in many parts of the country on the local level and the story goes that if you had a copy it was usually hidden inside a different dustjacket to cover up the title. A lot of the books were passed between other women this way, so the menfolk didn't catch them reading it. These Guild books were printed on the same presses after the Regular first run of Main Publishers, chage the first few pages but released on the same day or before since they were mailed out. These are considered First Editions but a lot cheaper. But there are details that have to be in place. The year on the Main Title Page and copyright page same, not listings of printings, and best if a dustjacket is available with the Month listed as it choice, All are seen in the photos. little more about the DJ: it does have a chip front cover at the top not affecting title etc, it has wear along the edges(minor) the spine maybe a little sun faded not sure.

1st book by Oliver La Farge is a 1st because it has the 1929 on the Main Title page and the Red(pink) Flute Boy. This book is more Very Good inside the soiled covers with only the inside cover with a 1/2 inch crack at the top. And one small spot a couple of pages to the inside cover bottom. Oh and a 7 line inscription not by the author's hand on the 1st leaf. Outside covers are soiled and the spine is dirtiest and faded a little. And some very small wear tears and bruising to spine ends. Not as bad as it sounds, check photos. Yellow buckram covers with maroon lettering, red stained top edge all 1st issue points.2nd book is a book that came with it so why not leave it with it. THE FORGOTTEN TRIBES by DONALD M. HINES 1991 SOFTBACK.

Has a Book club DJ in poor shape.

Yellow buckram with maroon titles, maroon top stain, sewn signature binding, 1929 date on the main title page, copyright page 1929, red flute boy main title page (ALL 1st ISSUE POINTS for 1st state/1st Edition/1st Printing).Defects: covers lightly soiled. 1st leaf/end page has been removed but part of the page remains to make the book still tight except the top of half-title page loose(easy repairs then condition improved to NF). Minor soiling to covers, a touch of wear front bottom corner, and rear bottom corner touch of rounding. Book tight, very square, and very clean. Fore-edge is rough cut, bottom page end is smooth cut and has uniform colors. Sorry no DJ but may use one from somewhere to enhance the value greatly.

This book is in a collection of Agee, but all books are for sale. priced higher here so find one cheaper so I don't have to find a better copy for more.

The only value is a Typed Letter Signed (TLS) by Walter H. Page on the letterhead Doubleday,Page and company, dated July 23, 1909. 35 lines about some fishing report by Congress. signed Walter H. Page...Books are blue cloth with gold lettering,this Good at best to me, set, because all is present but the spines are badly sun faded to look like green cloth,titles are readable,pulled spine tops,wear but not thru to the boards,crack hinges but not so loose to fall apart, 3 volumes and heavy. previous owners inscription volume 1 at the 1st leaf.
