Paris, France, 1961. Soft cover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. A practical manual on engraving on wood. All text is in French. Extensive instructions on the wood engraving technique. Numerous illustrations of the technique as well as examples by prominent European artists. Images are in black and white except for the cover image and a three color print with separate pages for each color. The soft cover has no rips or tears but there is some sticker residue on the back cover. Cover has staining from water damage and minor cockling on some pages.

Original three quarter leather over cloth covered boards. Leather binding with wear and bottom corner bumped; spine showing some cracking as per picture. Binding tight, gutters intact, interior bright with no spotting. Prior dealer's pencil notations are the only markings. Frontispiece is full-page original etching of Max Liebermann's "Selbstbildnis,1913" protected by captioned tissue guard. With 547 pages, the text and contents are clean, with over 300 illustrations, mostly in black and white. Extra shipping costs as this is heavy and large.
