Description:
The author was an architect before becoming a detective writer. A Brit ex-pat residing in Australia where he teaches. The Brock/Kolla series received rave reviews for the clever, carefully constructed plots. Originally published in Britain the series ran into problems with no US publisher taking an interest (probably they wanted an author tour which was not possible. Nevertheless, the series was well received by crime fans.
This a Scorpion Press rebinding of the second novel. It concerns wealthy patients at a private clinic coming to fortunate ends. Signed by the author in an edition of 12 lettered copies. It has marbled endpapers matching those on the covers.

Description:
Signed by the author on the title page at the Hay Literary Festival. Russo's first novel, being the author of bestselling novels, Empire Falls and Nobody's Fool. These novels have a cast of ordinary blue-collar men and women, whose lives are threatened by the mundane and fear of change. Typically, the characters must choose between self-interest and sacrifice. The best of them hold on to some integrity, and Russo's gift is to explore this with wit and intelligence. One of the charms of this first novel is the chance happenings, the sage remarks and the range of feelings they provoke. Not surprising that Russo went on to land the Pulitzer Prize. No marks or inscription, an unread copy that has been kept safe and sound.
