Description:
1st ed, very scarce early Maigret. With fragile d/w in need of restoration. Numerous tears, chips and creases to the d/w and foxing to the verso of the d/w. Original price on rear flap of d/w intact 8s. net. Stamp stating OVERSEAS EDITION on rear flap. Foxing to top edge and very light foxing to fore edge. Some discolouration to the lower right corner of front board, and to lower left of rear board, possibly caused by water. Previous owner stamp on fep and some toning to fep and ffep and rear endpapers, with same owner stamp on rear pastedown. Other than that, no other inscriptions or pencil marks at all. The pages are beautifully clean all the way through. I have only seen one previously listed UK 1st M.Labbe with d/w on the internet in the past 7 or 8 years, which was listed at US$2800. This copy is priced to reflect d/w condition but it is a good candidate for restoration. Price includes free courier with DHL.

2nd ed of the Beardsley commissioned editions, in one volume. Wear to head and tail of spine, shelf rubbing and pushed corners. Brownish stain to lower spine, scratches and marks to the boards, a few little areas on edges of boards where the cloth has worn through to the boards. Foxing and toning to prelims and endpapers but no previous owners inscriptions or writing. Toning to textblock, gold gilt to top edge. When packaged this book would weigh approximately 2.6kg. I have factored in global courier by DHL so the price includes DHL courier. Beautifully illustrated book in Very Good Condition.

Description:
1st ed in notoriously flimsy yellow Gollancz jacket. Boards are clean and tight binding, a little fading to spine. No inscriptions, virtually spotless endpapers. D/w intact, with a 60mm closed tear at lower spine junction, and a 20mm closed tear. Small chips to head and tail of spine and corners scuffed, but on the whole this is a very collectable copy of a scarce book. Price includes tracked postage.
