This broadside announces an 1851 meeting of the foreign missions board of the Congregational Church. It includes an order of services listing 4 addresses, 3 hymns with lyrics, an opening prayer, and a benediction. Not listed in Worldcat. Crease marks from folding but otherwise fully intact.

This report provides the names, dates and roles of all ministers and consuls appointed by Presidents in the absence of Senate approval, due to recesses. An interesting view of executive power from 1792 to 1814. Somewhat tanned.

[Washington, 1856]. Good. Senate Ex. Doc 101. 30pp. disbound. The U. S. Senate expressed concern over the activities of the Vigilante Committee in San Francisco. In response, President Pierce's administration compiled a number of documents and correspondence from a variety of officials on the matter. Some age toning or light foxing but otherwise a good copy.

Williamsport, PA: Gazette and Bulletin Printing House, 1876. Softcover. Very good. Pamphlet (approximately 4 3/8" x 7 3/8"), stitched as issued. 25, [1]pp. Yellow printed paper wrappers with an advertisement for a local resort on rear wrapper. In 1875, Dr. Charles Cresson performed a chemical analysis on the Minnequa Spring in western Pennsylvania and concluded that the waters had a medical advantage over other locations. This pamphlet includes his data and written report. Dr. F. Hinkle then proceeds to outline the effects of a water cure on a variety of ailments, which is then followed by testimonials from satisfied patients. Although this pamphlet was originally issued in 1875, it was reissued in 1876 to reflect new lower prices for Minnequa water for the upcoming year. Light soiling to wrappers. Near fine.

Hardcover. Good. 3 ledger books, bound in one-quarter red leather, documenting the hours and pay of workers at the lower mill of twine manufacturer, Brownell & Co. in East Haddam, Connecticut. The first ledger book (appoximately 8 1/4" x 13 1/2") records payroll information from January 1907 to December 1914. The second ledger book (approximately 8 1/4" x 14") records payroll information from January 1915 to December 1920. The final ledger books (also 8 1/4" x 14") records payroll information from January 1921 to March 1927). Bindings worn and dusty but fully intact. Handwritten payroll information by employee fully legible.

Binding still very tight and text is clean. Overall, about a very good copy.

Upon the death of a respected Providence, Rhode Island high school teacher, friends of John Leach published one of his lectures on the "reciprocal influence of the teacher and his profession." They also added an 11-page poem on teaching by John Goodwin, who was a high school principal in nearby Westerly. Scarce. Wrappers moderately soiled and split at the spine. Prior owner's stamp on front wrapper. Text is clean. A good copy.

A short synopsis of the Unitarian viewpoint based upon an article by the President of Brown University, William Faunce. The Chinese characters on the front wrapper refer to the opening lines of the pamphlet: "Certain Chinese students now in America sought out William H. P. Faunce . . . . and asked these questions: What is your idea of God? / Do you belive in him? / Why?" Staples show signs of rust but otherwise near fine.
