Signed by the author to the half-title page wuth his handwritten correction in pencil to page 36 (correcting "cornfields" to "canefields"). Tipped in is a handwritten, signed letter in ink dated 15.6.1936 from Kenneth Muir to Miss Dowson discussing the book, the opinions expressed, his next book, the reason for the handwritten correction, and the cover engraving by Agnes Miller Parker ("who is doing a big book of pictures for Gollancz this autumn"). Good condition, with dried tape stains (tape no longer present) to upper and lower edges of the letter / half title where it was previously mounted. - The rest of the contents are in 'Very Good' condition.
