Description:
Printed by the Kingsport Press, Kingsport, Tennessee. This Hardcover Edition has no date.
After having studied the history of the publisher, J. H. Sears & Co.,
I believe that absence of a date indicates mid- 1920's or earlier.
This classic book is in very good to possibly excellent condition.
The cover appears to be made of either leather or imitation leather, it is hard to tell.
It is a lovely rich blue color, unfaded by time.
The peacock patterned end papers are striking.
It does not lie completely flat but has some lift.
First edition for this publisher, presumed. There are no dates, editions or printings indicated.
Gold leaf on the top edges of the 240 pages, which are supple and unmarked, although toned. There is a light spot on the bottom edge of the book pages and a very small light pencil line. Gilt on the top edge is not uniform. Very light bit of scuffing on edge of spine moving to cover. See photos please.
