Original owner's name written in ink on frontespiece: ("A. Beatrice Hickson"). Some discoloration on exterior front and back covers. One little bit of very old writing on page 20. Text is in fine condition.

The settlement lasted from 1812 to 1841, when it was sold to John Sutter.
