This plate, it would seem, was removed from a copy of the first edition ( 1785) of Edward Bernards "New and Complete History of England" Although the plates in Bernards work were uncolored this plate has been expertly hand- coloured sometime in the past. In a modern (1960s-1970s) Hogarth frame, which has a small amount of damage to the top right hand corner(not visible when hung) An attractive late 18th century /early 19th century engraving. While living in London the Fitzgibbon's numbered amongst their friend, Norman Douglas, Henry Moore, Dylan Thomas and his wife Caitlin. She and Constantine parted after fifteen years of marriage.
