Shortly after Pearl Harbor, he was commissioned as an Ensign in the Navy and eventually rose to command the destroyer escort Cofer. This is a “Special Edition for the Destroyer Escort Sailor’s Association,” a near fine copy, corners very slightly worn, in like dust jacket. (289p., 47 illus.)

This is a mint copy of the First Edition, in dust jacket, recently deaccessioned from the library of the New York Yacht Club, with the club’s stunning vintage bookplate on the front pastedown, along with a discreet Case and Shelf notation. There are no other markings. The book has been SIGNED in ink and hand-dated by the author on the bookplate and on the title page.
