Very good text block, tightly bound, with untanned pages and very slight foxing to a few tail edges and on last few pages on fore edge. No inscriptions etc. Scarce.

The covers are fairly clean, a bit wobbly, with warped front cover. Green and white illustrated biblical scene to end papers is unmarked. Dark green and black marble cut edges. The text block is fairly firm, not quite straight, with clean pages, fully illustrated with b/w and colour plates and some b/w drawings and maps. Good condition. No inscriptions etc.

In near fine pictorial card with yellow spine, white title field and red and black titles. The four colour illustrations on front show boy with kittens, girl at table with dog; boy with watering can; girl in nightdress praying. This is an early, if not first edition, of the Uncle Arthur stories. The covers are very tight, clean and straight, with undamaged edges and corners. Unmarked lime green front and turquoise rear end papers with feint photos of children beneath. Top edge grubby; tail and fore edges clean. The text block is in near fine condition, showing tightly bound and clean pages, with photos and illustrations. No inscriptions etc. Excellent for age. Rare edition.

The covers are a little loose from damage to front hinge, faded edges as if from water/damp; spine ends bumped and frayed. The end papers feature floral design; the paste downs are tanned. Tiny red bookseller's sticker from H. Lewis, Portishead on front paste down. Tanned cut edges. The text block is slightly tanned around the edges, firm and square. With colour illustrations by R. R. Russell, including frontispiece. No inscriptions etc. No jacket.
