Bound in a near contemporary 1/2 tan blind stamped calf. The binding tight with no splits some rubbing to board edges. Illustrated with unusual lithographs after pen-and-ink sketches by Cobbold. The contents are dominated by rural pieces, including several on hunting, but with occasional verses on contemporary political and military issues

These areas are well known for there picturesque beauty and were popular subjects for landscape painters in the 18th and 19th centuries. The villages are situated on the River Clwyd or its tributaries and the Moel Famau can be seen creating forming a striking backdrop to this picture.Edward Pugh (1763-1813) was a Welsh artist known for his landscape paintings of north Wales.
