Richmond, VA. 1953. 72pp. Everything in the magazine (except the ads) deals with Norfolk & Western. The bottom half of the last page is clipped out, presumably for a subscription, with no loss of text. The covers show some wear, as expected for a 70-year-old magazine. The rear cover has some stain spots. There is a barely-visible vertical crease down the center of the magazine only really visible under an oblique light. (56627) . Good. Paperback.

1928. 32pp. Magazine touting Virginia produced by Norfolk & Western Railway, with puff pieces on everything Virginia, from the beaches in the east to the mountains and caverns in the west, with photographs of hotels in every town and district. This is an advertising piece extraordinaire for the Roaring Twenties, with pictures on every page. There is a fantastic track map of N&W's reach in 1928 inside the rear cover with every stop labeled in teeny-tiny print. The magazine is remarkably undamaged for 93 years old, with a small chip to the lower right corner of the front cover, a bit of separation to the lower 1.5" of the spinal fold that doesn't affect anything and does not really compromise the magazine's integrity. A previous owner has written "Keep" and something indecipherable on the front cover, not affecting any text or graphics. They also wrote something I can't read on the first page, along with "1928". Boston: Weeks, Jordan, and Co.. 1838. 424pp. Still in the original publication boards, though with a later paper binding repair (see pictures). Both covers are separating, the corners are frayed, the edges are worn, and the pages near both ends show spotting and discoloration... so, not bad for 184 years old! All the page edges are untrimmed, but the interior text pages are mostly clean and bright, with just a few brown spots here and there. (50463) . Fair. First Edition. Hardcover.
